I offer in person and online therapy for the Jackson area and all over Michigan.

Things seem complicated in your life right now. It’s so hard to get through the day. You often feel overwhelmed, irritable, empty, and it’s hard to see the “good” things in life.

Your job is hard because you don’t enjoy it anymore, everything is exhausting, including your relationships.

What you’re experiencing happens to people, unfortunately. You don’t know this because people don’t talk about it or post about it. You’ve probably been living like this for a long time. Therapy is a place to talk about it and figure out what to do about it. You’ve handled so much in your life, you kick ass most of the time…..what’s keeping you from living your best life? Let’s tackle this and get you back on track!

Here’s what I can offer you.

Psychotherapy happens when you can partner with a trained professional to discover and learn about yourself and develop a plan to learn how to feel better and cope better in your life. Wouldn’t it be nice to have your life back to normal? I use scientifically-based therapies in a confidential, non-biased, safe, office setting. One type of therapy I often use is cognitive behavior therapy as it works with many types of clients.

Reasons clients come to see me.

Emotional Trauma

Emotional trauma has the potential to deeply interfere with every aspect of a person's life. Whether it stems from childhood abuse, a traumatic event, or ongoing distressing experiences, the effects are far-reaching. Not only can it impact your mental and emotional well-being, but it can also disrupt relationships, hinder personal growth, and impede daily functioning. If you have experienced emotional trauma, you may struggle with trust, constantly dealing with feelings of fear, anxiety, and have difficulty in connecting with others. Trauma can manifest in various ways, such as flashbacks, nightmares, or a constant state of hypervigilance. Ultimately, emotional trauma has the power to disrupt one's sense of self, dampen resilience, and hinder your ability to lead a fulfilling and balanced life.

Life Changes

Other types of reasons people see me is related to life changes such as: relationship problems, divorce, job loss, career changes, work stress, work/personal life balance, procrastination, parenting, caring for elderly parents, dealing with the empty nest, grief and loss, adjusting to retirement, adjusting to family changes (new baby, blended family), etc.

Depression/Anxiety/Stress

If you are struggling with coping with depressive symptoms such as sadness, irritability, and sleep problems, it’s a great time to get help with these. If anxiety symptoms are hard to deal with such as not being able to turn your mind off, headaches/stomachaches, FOMO, and excessive worrying, I can help you cope with those. Learning to manage stress can be a life-changer for anyone. I can help you manage these so they’re not interfering in your daily life.

Sports/Performance Anxiety

If you are experiencing some anxiety regarding an upcoming performance of some kind, I can help you succeed! Some athletes or performers sometimes struggle with the anxiety that accompanies the very thing they have trained, rehearsed, and prepared for. It is the most frustrating thing to happen to an athlete because their body is ready and prepared, but it’s difficult to “get out of their mind.” I can work collaboratively with you to develop personalized strategies to boost your confidence and enhance performance. By addressing the root causes of sports/performance anxiety and equipping you with effective tools, I can empower you to achieve your goals and excel in your chosen endeavors.
